Of the companies in the Oji Group, Oji Kinocloth produces original materials as a company that mainly specializes in pulp air laid nonwoven manufacturing technology.
Since becoming the first company in the world to manufacture pulp ari laid nonwoven fabrics from wood pulp in 1964, Oji Kinocloth has led the industry by manufacturing products at the forefront of contemporary needs. In doing so, we use our own original materials and high technical knowhow, based on our philosophy that “Our Will lies in development”. In recent years, we have expanded our technology from pulp air laid to synthetic fiber air laid materials.
In the world of today, social values are undergoing a major transformation. Awareness of the environment has shifted, while there is an increasing demand for safe and hygienic products. Amid these changes, we see the new challenge for Oji Kinocloth as being to devise, develop and reliably supply products that are “kind to people, kind to the environment”, as demanded by the society and lifestyle of the coming age.

- 1963
- Honshu Paper (now Oji Holdings) and the Japan Tabacco and Salt public corporation (now Japan Tabacco) started the joint development of cigarette filters using wood pulp.
- 1964 Jun
- Succeeded in developing the pulp web manufacturing method.
Pilot machine was set up in Honshu Paper Central Reserch Institute. - 1965 Jul
- KINOCLOTH (pulp airlaid nonwoven fabric) pilot machine was set up in Honshu Paper Fuji Factory.
- 1970 Sep
- KINOCLOTH Factory (now Oji Kinocloth Fuji Factory) was completed.
Started Lion "Leed Cooking Paper" production. - 1971 Apr
- Won Okochi Memorial Production Award.
- 1973 Dec
- Honshu Hi-Life was established.
- 1974 Sep
- Honshu Hi-Life Fujinomiya Factory was completed.
Started paper diaper production. - 1975 Dec
- TDS (completely dry-type airlaid nonwoven fabrics) pilot machine was established.
- 1980 Aug
- KINOCLOTH production division demargad and Honshu Kinocloth was established.

- Merged with Honshu Hi-Life.

- KINOCLOTH No.2 machine was completed.
- 1991 Jul
- Paper Oshibori Towel Division demerged and Honshu Timely established (now Oji Timely Co., Ltd.).

- TDS new factory was completed.

- HonshuTimely new factory was completed.
- 1996 Aug
- Nonwoven Fabrics Research Lab was transferred from Honshu Paper and re-established as the Research & Development Dept.

- Honshu Paper and New Oji Paper merged to from Oji Paper.
- 1997 Apr
- Fuji Factory obtained ISO 9001 registration for cooking paper towel and pulp airlaid nonwoven fabric products

- Fuji Factory obtained ISO 14001 registration (registration no. : JSAE112)

- Kinocloth Processing Co., Ltd. was established.
- 2012 Oct
- Oji Paper company name was changed to Oji Holdings Corporation.
- 2014 Dec
- The Oji group obtained ISO 14001 registration (registration no: JP14/071359). Registration no.:JSAE112 relinquished.
- 2018 Apr
- Fujinomiya Factory was transferred to Oji Nepia Co., Ltd.
- 2021 Nov
- Registration no. : ISO9001 relinquished.
